Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines self-defense, acrobatics, dance-like moves, music, and a lot of playful energy--which is why kids love it. Parents love capoeira because of the multi-disciplinary aspects that address the athletic, artistic, and personal development of their child. Capoeira is active and energetic, musical and artistic, serious and funny, and requires focus and awareness. Classes will keep your child physically fit and mentally engaged. Students develop self-defense, artistic, and life skills that teach: DISCIPLINE - RESPECT - SELF CONFIDENCE Through fun games, drills, and exercises, children learn to “play capoeira” with an understanding of limits and respect for each other. Students will learn: v Fundamentals—Ginga & Aú (cartwheel) v Attack and Defense Movements v Stretching Techniques v Tumbling/Acrobatics v Focus and Awareness v Etiquette and Tradition v Sing in Portuguese/Play Instruments

Classes are taught by Mestre Roque and his wife, Instrutora Rebecca. The benefit of two instructors means the child-to-instructor ratio is lower--your child will receive more attention, learn more, and have more fun!
